We are an educational, non profit service organization which renders non-biased, sound horticultural information to the community. Working with the Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE), our objectives are accomplished through the volunteer efforts of our members. We are a service organization of trained volunteers.

A Newport News MG may provide one or more of the following services to the city:

Educate the public about sound landscape management practices.
Promote the conservation of natural resources.
Provide answers to homeowner questions via the Hort Line.
Provide horticultural therapy to residents of a local convalescent center.
Plan and deliver school age educational programs.
Host plant clinics and sales at various locations within Newport News.
