The Botanical Garden Foundation is the membership organization that supports the North Carolina Botanical Garden, its mission, and its programs. The North Carolina Botanical Garden is a Conservation Garden. We have developed Environmentally Responsible Gardening Practices that we apply to our own gardening activities, and which we hope others will be interested in adopting. We have also developed a set of Conservation Principles for Development that will be of interest to builders and land developers.
The Foundation also serves as a land trust to protect ecologically important lands near the Garden and beyond. It owns and holds conservation easements on over 300 acres of land adjacent to lands already protected by the Garden and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
