Pipes Lake is a beautiful area located in rolling hills with pine and hardwood overstory. Picnic tables are located on ridges over looking a 14 acre lake and its many coves. The lake, with a concrete boat ramp, supports large mouth bass, bream, and catfish. Hunting camps are available in the area as well. Facilities include five picnicking units, chemical toilets, and a concrete boat ramp. Pipes Lake is open year-round unless winter weather conditions require the area to be closed. Please contact the District Ranger’s office to make sure the area is open if you plan on visiting during the months of January & February. No user fees required.
Directions
From Gloster, MS take Hwy 33 north for 17 miles to Garden City. Turn left (west) on County Road 119 for 5 1/2 miles, turn left on to County Road 121 for 1 1/4 miles, turn left at Pipes Lake sign on to Forest Service Road 121A for 1 1/2 miles. Out of state visitors, unfamiliar with this area, should contact the District Office for directions.
