Planting Roots Farm is a female owned business and is currently operated by family members. After years of working toward a number of advanced degrees and spending countless hours in the corporate world, Conya Rawls decided it was time to return to her roots and help the rural community she grew up in to understand and experience first-hand the true meaning of farm-fresh. It has taken a few years for word to spread and now the local community as well as a lot of the surrounding areas are learning the difference between store-bought fresh and farm-fresh. The increasing demand for a gallon of locally-grown spring season strawberries from Planting Roots Farm has proven that. Planting Roots Farm has an on-site state-approved farm stand at which the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Vouchers (SFMNP) can be accepted. PRF opens in the spring with strawberries that will leave juice dripping from your chin and wraps up in the fall with all the greens and cool season vegetables. In the summer months, you can find tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, squash, peppers of all kinds, eggplant, cucumbers, green beans and a host of other items available at the farm stand for your purchase. A top requested item is our shelled purple hull peas. We pick in the mornings so you can have it fresh that afternoon. The s for the farm stand vary for spring strawberries (posted on FB when available) but are typically M, T, TH & F 3-6PM and Sat 9AM-12PM for summer and fall seasons. PRF is closed on Sundays and Wednesdays due to worship service and bible class commitments. Please stop in and see us cause we would love to see you!! When the demand for various items is high, sometimes we do sell out so come early for the best selection. See ya soon and take care!
