We are a 100% all-volunteer organization. We are funded by the public to meet our annual operational costs.
All contributions to our effort are used solely to meet our operational costs and equipment replacements.
We receive donations from Brookfield White Pine Hydro for the salmon broodstock program, grants from the Bass Pro Shops Cabela's Outdoor fund, membership dues, and hatchery fund donations. With your help we can assist the endangered salmon to more firmly establish themselves in the Saco River watershed.
?SSRAH maintains a strong focus on public and educational outreach. We strongly believe that the future of regional Atlantic salmon population recovery and restoration efforts begin with raising awareness to the plight of the salmon, and in particular, engaging future generations in those efforts. Our Fish Friends program involves 11 area schools which are provided with wild Atlantic salmon eggs from our hatchery. We partner with the University of New England (UNE) who assist us by providing Interns and Citizenship volunteers who get hands-on experience rising wild Atlantic salmon in our hatchery and at the UNE Marine Science Center.
