Scarborough Beach was acquired for the people of Maine and its visitors through the Land for Maine’s Future program. This facility is operated by Black Point Resource Management LLC in a public/private partnership.
Visitors may find some variations in policies, fees, and procedures compared to other state parks and historic sites. This is due to the fact that this facility is supported primarily by user fees.
Scarborough Beach offers some of the best swimming in New England with water temps in the high 60's throughout July and August. Rip currents do occur on a daily basis — we strongly recommend swimming in the designated lifeguard area.
