Dr. Scott Gernon co-owns Magazine Street Animal Clinic with his wife Dr. Teresa Gernon. Dr. Scott Gernon is a native of Louisiana. “My father owned a feed store for forty-plus years. It’s where I spent a lot of my childhood,” said Dr. Gernon about why he wanted to become a veterinarian. “Seeing him help livestock and pets made me want to do more.”

Dr. Gernon attended the University of New Orleans and Louisiana State University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology in 1996. He went on to attend the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He has received continuing education certifications in ultrasound, video otoscopy, dentistry and orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Gernon is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Southeast Louisiana Veterinary Association, and the American Veterinary Dental Society.
