When I am first contacted by a client my goal is to figure out what their needs are and the investment they have. I then work with that client to tailor a forest management plan to meet their needs, this plan may require the harvesting of timber, a timber appraisal, wildlife habitat improvement, woods road construction, food plot installation, tree planting, herbaceous control, pest management and general discussions with a client throughout their ownership. Paden Land and Timber, LLC is happy to provide our clients with all the necessary services for a comprehensive forest management program. We also specialize in helping our clients purchase and sell their timberland investment.
Education:
Clemson University Master of Forest Resource Degree, Emphasis on Forrest Business. Master's project published on the front cover of Forest Landowner Bullish on Timberland Paden, Cushing, Straka, An article highlighting timberland as a solid investment in economic downturns. Also worked in the Clemson Extension department while in Graduate school. Auburn University Bachelors Degree in Business Finance, with course work tailored towards real estate.
Experience:
I started in the Forest Consulting business in 2014 where I work extensively helping landowners purchase, sale and manage their forest in a way that meets their long term goals. I combine my background in Business Finance, Real Estate and Forestry to maximize the investment in the land as well as the timber. I have over 10 years of Real Estate Experience with over 150 transactions closed to date. 2015 was a great year totaling 11.5 million in real estate sales.
Success story:
I had a Dad with five young children come to me looking for a piece of land to take his kids hunting. He wanted a tract that could be an investment that would have a specific timing of cash flows from timber sales as well as great hunting. The property also needed to be close enough to his house so he could fit hunting in to his families busy schedule. We searched for a property for six months finally purchasing a the perfect tract. We immediately tailored a management plan to his needs and helped him thin a stand of timber, install food plots, plant the food plots, and conduct a prescribed burn to enhance the wildlife habitat. The management plan has a schedule of timber harvest so he knows exactly when he will receive a cash flow for the next 10 years. It has been a joy to work with him and know that their are five kids out there who will have a more colorful childhood because of our services.
