The Seekonk Land Conservation Trust in partnership with the Trustees of Reservations manages over 250 acres of open and forested land in Seekonk and has aided landowners in placing Conservation and Agricultural Restrictions on another 250 acres of land. Founded in 1967 by Mary Wilson and other foresighted Seekonk citizens, the land trust has been preserving undeveloped land and sponsoring environmental education both in the schools and library for over 45 years. Both the Cushing Reserve on Chestnut Street and the Edna Martin Reserve on Rt 114 across from the Grist Mill have trails and are open to the public.
