Sherilyn Burnett Young is a founder and President of the firm, and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Sherry heads the firm's Environmental Practice Group, and assists clients on federal and state environmental matters, real estate transactions, and business and finance transactions.
Sherry focuses her practice on environmental law, including environmental compliance, permits and approvals, and real estate transactions involving contaminated properties. She has extensive experience in negotiating with state and federal regulators, and has achieved numerous successful settlements for industrial, commercial and municipal clients in a variety of environmental enforcement cases. In addition to her environmental practice, Sherry also has considerable experience in general corporate law, public and private financing, and estates and trusts.
Prior to founding the firm, Sherry worked in the environmental and estates and trusts practice areas in a prominent New Hampshire law firm. She served as legislative counsel to then-Governor Judd Gregg in 1988-1989. Sherry is Immediate Past President of the New Hampshire Historical Society, serves on the Board of the New Hampshire Business and Industry Association, the Board of Trustees of Franklin Pierce Law Center, and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Assembly of Overseers. She was the first woman to chair the State Capital Global Law Firm Group, a network of independent law firms in all 50 U.S. State capitals and in business markets and financial centers worldwide.
