The goal of this 103.22-acre Nutrient Bank located in Floyd County, Virginia is to reduce nutrient (phosphorus) and sediment loading into the New River watershed via the conversion of active agricultural land into forest; and generate nonpoint nutrient credits for transfer under existing and future federal, state and local law, programs, regulations and guidance, including the DEQ Guidance. This bank consists mostly of fallow pastureland with areas of forest. This bank site is within twelve-digit hydrologic unit code (HUC) 050500011703. The New River is the principle drainage for eight-digit HUC 05050001.
