Steve is a Certified Forester and owner of Wildland Resources, a natural resources consulting firm in Wheat Ridge, Colo. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 36 years in positions that included: Pikes Peak district ranger, deputy forest supervisor of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, supervisor of the Rogue River National Forest in Oregon, and director/assistant director of recreation at the Rocky Mountain Region and the Office of the Chief in Washington D.C. He serves on several boards, including the Colorado Wildlife Heritage Foundation.
