On the shore of the scenic St. Croix watershed is the setting of the Down River camps, with comfortable cabins on or near the water's edge plus a relaxed, friendly atmosphere will make your stay here a great time!
Anyone who is serious about small mouth bass fishing has to end up in Washington County Maine at some point. Washington county is the easternmost county in Maine and we are in the easternmost part of the county. Our waters abut Canada and our remoteness keeps us under fished and with very little population, ensures you have what you came looking for, a sense of pristine wilderness and hardly any boat traffic. A typical 8 hour day of fishing, you "might" see 6 boats, there's about 10,000 acres just in "our" water alone.
Snuggled in a white pine grove, each Housekeeping camp is fully equipped to accommodate two to six persons. Refrigerators are in all camps as well as gas cooking, electricity and hot showers. Complete linen, dishes, utensils, etc. are standard equipment.
All boats are 14 foot aluminum and come equipped with 6 to 8 HP motors. Guests may use our docks for their own boats for a small fee.
