The University of California Cooperative Extension in Lake County is part of a statewide system that makes UC research-based information available to local agencies, industries, and the public. Our mission is to sustain a vital agriculture, environment, and community in Lake County by providing University of California research-based information on management, nutrition, and youth development. Our programs operate through a unique partnership between the County of Lake, the UC system, support from the USDA, and other private funds. Backed by the resources of the UC campuses, our educational programs use practically-applied research to solve community problems. We consult with individuals and organizations, publish newsletters, produce information for mass media, and conduct seminars and workshops; we also conduct research on local problems.
