The Upper Dakota Resource Conservation and Development Council is a non profit organization located in north central North Dakota and serves Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, and Ward Counties as well as a portion of the Ft. Berthold Indian Reservation. Local leaders of this area organized the Council, which represents county commissioners, mayors, soil conservation distirct supervisors, tribal entities, and others.

The Upper Dakota Resource Conservation and Development Council promotes the wise use of natural, cultural, and human resources to improve the quality of life in the area. The Council is a non profit organization that networks people and organizations, provides grant writing tips, assists in locating potential funding sources, and others sources of technical assistance.

The goals of the Upper Dakota RC&D are as follows:

Develop, protect, and manage the area's natural resources to ensure a high quality of life for present and future generations.
Revitalize rural communities by utilizing community improvement and economic development projects.
Develop alternative agricultural enterprises, and recreational and tourism opportunities.
