VOMWD was formed as a County Water District in 1960 under Water Code Section 30000 et seq. for the primary purpose of providing a dependable supply of potable water in the Valley of the Moon. VOMWD’s service area extends from the Trinity Oaks Subdivision, located north of the town of Glen Ellen, to the Temelec Subdivision located at the southern end of the Sonoma Valley, and encompasses a total area of approximately 7,545 acres. The District provides potable water to approximately 23,000 people through over 6,940 connections.
VOMWD has over the years made a concerted effort to share information about its public services with many and varied audiences. The purpose of this web site is to help even more people get the information they need.
