The Walton SWCD is your local resource for questions and concerns relating to the protection and wise use of Walton County’s soil and water.
Our district is one of the 40 soil and water conservation districts in Georgia that together cover all 159 counties in the state. The Conservation Districts were formed to provide federal assistance on soil and water conservation to local citizens under local direction and priorities set forth by the chairman and the supervisors of each district. In this way the Walton County SWCD responds to your needs and desires.
Goal:
To set priorities and direction for the needs of Walton County’s soil and waterways and to educate Walton’s citizens on the importance and practices of conservation.
Mission:
To treat each acre of land in Walton County in accordance with its needs and use and each acre in accordance with its capabilities
