Locally Led Conservation
West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District is a local government agency with the mission to conserve and protect soil and water resources for people, wildlife, and the environment.
We help those who live, work, and recreate in western Multnomah County (west of the Willamette River), Sauvie Island, and the Bonny Slope portion of Washington County with conservation planning, invasive weeds, native plants, livestock management, grant funding, wildlife, healthy woods, habitat restoration, school gardens and many other projects.
As a state-designated special district, West Multnomah SWCD has a volunteer elected Board of Directors which includes representatives of five geographic zones, and two at-large Directors. The Board also appoints Associate Directors to assist with projects.
We look forward to hearing from you!
