Wilbur D. Mills Campground is a small, quiet campground located downstream of the Wilbur B. Mills Dam on the Arkansas River, near the Pendleton Recreation Area. The Wilbur D. Mills Dam is on the main stem of the Arkansas River, just below the Arkansas Post Canal. Birders love coming to the region in spring and fall to see millions of migratory birds en route for warmer waters. Hiking, fishing and boating are all popular pastimes. World-class bass and crappie fishing is found in Pool 2, the section of the canal between Pendleton Bend and Lock Number 2.
Electric and water hookups are available at each of the 21 campsites, 17 of which can be reserved. Upon arrival, advanced reservation holders need to check in with gate attendants at Pendleton Bend Park.
