It is important to plant native plants in your garden or for your landscape projects because native plants are disappearing due to urbanization, cultivation, road construction, herbicides, and invasive alien plant species. Many native plants provide food and shelter for a great diversity of our native wildlife. Plant a red-flowering currant shrub or columbine plants to attract the hummingbirds.
