Willis V. Carpenter practices law full time, teaches a ten-week course in real estate practice every fall to a new crop of real estate attorneys, and delivers many other continuing legal education (CLE) lectures during the year on a variety of topics.
Will was admitted to the bar in Colorado in 1954. His formal education was at Princeton University, A.B., cum laude, 1951; and Harvard Law School, LL.B, 1954. He was on active and reserve duty in the United States Naval Reserve, Naval Intelligence, 1954-1977, retiring with the rank of Captain.
Will concentrates his conservation easement practice on representation of farm and ranch owners to provide some balance in their negotiations with the land trusts and the land trusts' attorneys.
Will’s practice is focused on real estate and commercial transactions, farm and ranch sales, conservation easements, and title insurance issues. Will also devotes a substantial amount of time to expert witness testimony; he has testified in more than 75 trials and arbitrations since 1977, in 17 Colorado District Courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
