Mission of the Wood River Soil and Water Conservation District: To Inform and Educate landowners of practices that will enhance water quality, reduce soil erosion, protect riparian areas and wildlife.
Natural Resource Priorities and Goals:
1. Water Quality –To reduce sediment and phosphorus runoff into the Big Wood River by converting from surface to sprinkler irrigation.
2. Pasture & Hayland - Implement 700 Creek Drainage WQPA.
3. Animal Waste Management – To Increase the knowledge base of landowner’s and seek alternative systems to management with other land applications.
4. Water Resource- To seek installation of delivery system while conserving our water resources.
5. Rangeland – To increase the forage production and utilization in Rangeland.
