Matt's was previously Founder and President of Recurve, a practicing home performance contracting company and software developer powering the residential energy efficiency market by delivering the most advanced in-home energy modeling, reporting and estimating software tools to help contractors and utility companies profit while saving homeowners money. In 2010 Recurve ranked as the 24th Top Energy Company by Inc Magazine and 3rd Most Innovative Energy Company by Fast Company. In 2011 it was a GoingGreen Global 200 top private company for innovation and transforming big industry. Recurve’s technology was acquired by Tendril to be incorporated into its smart grid cloud platform.
Matt is active in the energy efficiency community, serving as a board member, past policy chair and founding chairman of Efficiency First, a trade association representing over 1,300 Home Performance businesses. Matt is also on the boards of the Building Performance Institute, National Home Performance Council, and is currently chair of the Home Performance Resource Center.
Matt believes that the home energy efficiency industry can deliver on its promise through smart public policy that engages private markets and leads to energy efficiency delivered as a demand side energy resource. Matt is applying his real world market experience, running and raising capital for a home performance contracting business, with a deep understanding of public policy and program design, in order to help public sector and private industry clients develop and implement strategies to bring energy efficiency to market as a resource.
