Meet a turkey farmer who hugs his turkeys.

Give a nod of gratitude...
...for the food that is all in thanks to the farm families who made your Thanksgiving dinner possible.

We found a video from November 2018 by WECT6 News in Wilmington, North Carolina, that features an inside tour of Holly Farm in Wallace.  The video serves as a tribute to turkey farmers across America.

Turkeys...A Conservation Triumph!

You probably have noticed that there are many turkeys around over the past several years.  Rafters (or flocks) of these gobbling gangs can be seen almost everywhere in rural America.

Wild turkeys are instantly recognizable game birds, and while they are often seen as gullible and comical, they have a noble history in their native North America as well as throughout the world.

Have we piqued your curiosity about these fowls? We did a little research and found a wealth of information about a coordinated effort to trap and transfer turkeys across state lines on the Audubon website.

About Presidential Pardons...
How is a turkey selected for a Presidential pardon each year, and what happens to the pardoned parolee after?  Watch this brief video from 2018 to find out!

Remember to thank the farmers who made your meal possible.

It's not just the turkey farmers, but the farmers who grow the vegetables and fruit that you will enjoy, as well as the farmers who provide the wheat and other grains for your breads and pies.
